HOW TO PLAY
STEP 1: REVEAL & BID
Each round begins by revealing a Miracle Card, introducing a unique rule or twist.
• Deal 8 cards to each player
• Each player secretly chooses a Flame token
• The token represents how many tricks that player expects to win
STEP 2: PLAY EIGHT TRICKS
Follow suit whenever possible. The highest card of the leading suit wins the trick—unless the Miracle Card changes the rules.
HIT YOUR BID EXACTLY?
Place your chosen Flame token on the communal Menorah and light a candle.
MISS YOUR BID?
Earn Gelt coins. Spend your Gelt on Shamash Helper Cards—single-use abilities that provide a boost during the next round.
Every round creates new tactical choices and exciting comeback opportunities.
LIGHT THE MENORAH
Your secret bid is made using one of your colored Flame tokens.
MATCH YOUR BID EXACTLY?
Place that Flame token on the communal Menorah and light another candle, bringing you closer to victory.
MISS YOUR BID?
Earn Gelt coins instead. Spend your Gelt on Shamash Helper Cards—powerful, single-use abilities that can help you during the next round.
Whether you light a candle or earn Gelt, every round gives you a new way to move forward.
HOW THE GAME ENDS
STEP 3: SHINE THE BRIGHTEST
There are two ways to win:
INSTANT WIN
Light all your flames before anyone else and win immediately.
ENDGAME WIN
When the Menorah is fully lit, the player with the most lit flames wins the Festival of Lights.
